I think it was great idea making her from a weak girl to a badass villain, it was a nice twist watching someone so nice turned into someone so bad.
Of course i wanted to see more of her, especially what happened to her during the past 5 months.

Yes, unfortunately, her part in that was cut short. The part of Ava Wilson was originally supposed to be a love-interest for Sam. But then the show's creator thought the "chosen" subplot was getting to be too complicated, so he killed them all off, including Ava. In fact, he made Ava the villain, not an idea that I thought worked very well.
