Has anyone else noticed that whatever David is in, he's always eating, the exception being, ironically, Porridge. Don't get me wrong, this isn't an attack, far from it. I think the guy is superb, he has kept me entertained all my adult life. But think about it, in OFAH if he wasn't down the "Indian" he was sat at home eating what Grandad, Albert or Raquel had made. In the Darling Buds he was never far from the table, in A Bit Of A Do, well the title says it all, even in Frost he's forever in the canteen champing on something. Open All Hours, plenty of times in the back of the shop eating a meal or in the shop eating sweets or ice lollys. Every time he comes on telly now, i watch to see if he's eating, and it's not a pretend meal in front of him and then cut scene, he's actually eating and enjoying what's in front of him. I don't think there's another actor out there has ate as much on-screen food as Sir David. Must be in his contracts LOL. Like i said before i'm not knocking him, it's just a harmless observation, borne out watching OFAH 60 million times.
All the Best Sir David for The Colour of Magic, i'll be watching how many meals you got contracted into the script.
Just as i'm writing this there's an episode of Frost on and yes you guessed it, he is in the canteen having a meal, and by the looks of him, throughly enjoying every mouthful.

I think it shows his skill as an actor that he can be so relaxed about having his mouth full of food and not worry about up-coming lines.
I've seen actors sit and play with the food on their plates cos they have lines and cues to remember and don't actually put any food into their mouths.
Not everyone can do it.
Jason is just a natural actor.

Hahaha, yes I've noticed this too!!!
He seems to be eating an awful lot of fry-ups! There are many episodes of 'Only Fools' where he's tucking into a full English or a bacon sandwich, in practically every episode of 'Darling Buds of May', he's scoffing his way through a full English with all the trimmings, and even in 'A Touch of Frost', he's rarely without a sausage sandwich and brown sauce!!!
Wonder if it's in his contract! Still, if it comes out of the props budget, maybe the catering department can save money!
