Surprised to see in IMDB that she's actually acted in stuff before.<br />
Thought she must've got the part by being the director's sister or something!</p>

<p dir="auto">I thought she was great!  She was a distraught mother who was disconnected from her family because of a tragic loss.  The opening shot is of her staring at a photo of her son and her eyes were glazed over.   Right then I was into  the story.<br />
Maybe you take issue with the writing, because in spite of being such a tragic character, she was often the comic relief.  I personally like that touch, but I could see where one wouldn't.  But don't blame it on her acting.  She brought it.</p>
