I am watching LOST for the first time right now I just got to that episode you speak of its actually in Season 2 and I have not finished that season yet but I agree with you her character is pretty F'd up.
Her husband on the show seems like a decent guy who would do anything for her yet all she does is complain and try to leave him? Not to mention that her parents seem F'd up as well her dad being a bit of a mafia crime boss who orders her husband around to do mob hits for him?
This is just a tv show, but unfortunately, generally speaking many Koreans have a bad rep as well. I live in LA and generally speaking many of the Koreans here are notorious for being gold diggers or ruthless business people who are just plain cold.
LOST shows evidence of this of how Jin is constantly looked down upon for being a honest hard working fisherman's son yet society glorifies Sun's father for being a shady mafia business jerk A-hole.
Generally speaking Koreans are real pretentious and image is almost everything for them: What college did you111c go to? How much money do you make? What kind of car do you drive, etc.
I tend to stay away from the Korean women in LA for most are notorious gold diggers, but hey I'm only human cause some are really hot lol.
There are pros/cons good/bad generally speaking of all people and I think LOST actually is a honest depiction of many of the diverse cast within the show.
Sun seems arrogant, I can't stand when she makes those faces like I'm so hot and everyone wants me lol. I am only on the first half of season 2. Hopefully her character improves or gets killed off.

I certainly belive that if this characterization of her makes you hate her that much, this is undeniable proof that she is a very skilled and convincing actress, won't you think?

I just watched the Lost re-cap after only watching the first season, but from what I can gather, if you get killed in Lost, the characters will inevitably travel through time and you'll be back, right?

Well although im sure she's just acting. Finally someone else see's how horrible her lost character is. Although im sure she wont get killed off i would orgasm if it does.
