Even before he had gotten his own talk show, I never found him amusing in the least. He just comes across like the frat boy who's always drunk and thinks he's funnier than he actually is. It's also like his face is so immobile, like he has that obnoxious smirk forever.

He's a sketch comedian, cut from the same cloth as the SNL school, if not all, of his work is staged and predetermined. He's not a spontaneously observant comedian like some stand up comics who shoot from the hip at a drop of a dime. He's very similar to Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon in that respect and for the most part it fits into the late night talk show mold where the audience feels like they're in on the joke. I don't consider Dave Letterman the same though and if you watch his early work from the 80s you'll notice that he's very sardonic and relentless with his guests as he wasn't afraid to put them on the spot or in some instances willingly humiliated them. I think that's why so many people openly hate on Letterman than the safer Kimmel, Fallon and Leno.

Ever since he sucked on Win Ben Steins money and then the unfunny man show, which I totally avoided, I've stayed away from him and his smirk (good call, OP!).

Kimmel has never said or done
ANYTHING
interesting. Even after reading his bio and Wikipedia page, he's twice as boring as he looks. I don't know how he has an audience. He's just this dull, conservative Catholic with no energy who obediently fills a suit and a timeslot.
Here's a "quote" of his on Brainy Quote that captures how appallingly conventional he is:
"I describe myself as a human being."
Another, this one probably the most revealing about his crap show:
5b4
"The truth is, we have this idea that late night is about creativity and being cool, but that's not our job. Our job is to get as many people watching the commercials in between our show. That's the reality of it."
And how do you do that, genius?
Through creativity and being cool
, which he and his show are oblivious to. In this quote he conveys the banality of his existence in his typical, banal way: without wit, risk, humor or imagination.
This guy is criminally uninteresting. I think his personality is the root cause of his own narcolepsy.
Behold, bastard son
I am the evil one

You've captured Kimmel's essence perfectly. I guess this is why people like him, cause it seems like one of their jackhole friends got famous.
