When it comes to Jay Leno, Kimmel is absolutely merciless. You can tell that he truly has a deep hatred for Leno and I've always wondered why. He hated him even before the Conan fiasco. What is it about Leno that Kimmel just despises?

I think it stems back to Kimmel's disappointment when his biggest comedy hero, Dave Letterman, was passed over in favour of Jay Leno to replace Johnny Carson. Letterman was a big influence on Kimmel growing up, and since Dave still has a problem with Jay, that seems to be enough reason for Kimmel to have a problem with him, too. And he hangs out with Howard Stern, and that guy's bitchin' about Jay is probably also a big influence.
