not a bad choice at all. I am no fan of Nicole but I am not a fan of the others either but she fits the bill I say - as a matter of fact it makes perfect sense to me.

They're not dropping Fergie, they need to pull an album out and if Fergie prefers to work on her 2nd album that will not get released soon then they're more than right to replace her now, don't get me wrong i love Fergie, but she's a mess this era and i'm pretty sure she decided to take a time off the band to do their thing, besides we don't know sh-t yet, we have speculations, it's clear Nicole is working with them, but there's no confirmation if she's filling Fergie's spot, if she is then we should congratulate her, she can fit Fergie's spot and it's not her fault if Fergie doesn't join the band to work on Double Dutchess.
