Enter the Ninja wasn't supposed to be funny.
It's funny in the sense that they originally intended it to be a serious ninja film. Course it was also supposed to star Mike Stone rather than Franco Nero and would have been a completely different movie.
Was also intended to be the first US ninja movie. Technically "You Only Live Twice", "The Killer Elite" and "Shogun" all beat them to the punch but those weren't movies exclusively about ninja. They were just movies that had ninja in them. And of course there was "The Octagon" which was the first true US ninja movie, but of course most people never saw it.
For all it lacks, Enter the Ninja did introduce most Americans to the concept of what a ninja was supposed to be.

He made many good ones but "Pray For Death" is easily the best. It is not what you would expect from a ninja movie.
There is an homage to Stanley Kubrick in this film when the climactic fight sequence goes through a mannequin assembly line.
The fight to the death with a ruthless crime boss is very intense (better than most martial art movies) and Sho has his hands full with this long struggle toward revenge!
I recommend this one.

Revenge of the Ninja by far. One of the foundation movies of my youth. The beginning of my fascination and interest with Japanese culture.

Oh yes, Revenge Of the Ninja, Pray For Death and Ninja III. All GREAT fun. His fighting style is awesome!!! The first martial arts movie I ever saw was Revenge Of The Ninja, saw it when I was 11 years old and it totally blew me away, and I have been a proud martial arts movie addict ever since. His son Kane is pretty wicked as well. Check him out in Muscle Heat/Blood Heat depending on your territory.

His best ninja movies are Revenge of the Ninja,Pray For Death and Ninja 3.Some of his other movies that no one seems to talk about are Aloha Summer(unbelievably underrated) and Shogun Mayeda a.k.a. Journey of Honor. If you have never seen any Sho movies go in this order.

Hi,
I also would like to say that Revenge of the Ninja and Pray for Death are his best movies, he also had a nice Cameo in the Rutger Hauer Movie Blind Fury. You should even try Rage of Honor but he`s doubled in all the scenes where he had to jump (unfortunately).
