Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.

A guy can only complain about a woman "cock-teasing" him if she puts out signals that she is attracted to him, makes him believe it, but then doesn't follow through on her projected desire, either for unfair periods of time or not at all. Hence, the term. A guy who wants to physically be with a woman who doesn't want to be with him is not an appropriate usage of the term "cock tease", although some men misinterpret simple flirting or friendly behavior to be such.

Married to career is not equivalent to wanting fame. My point was when people speak of marriage, they usually imply love. Therefore, when someone speaks of another person as being married to their career, it means they would rather be working than be involved in a relationship, in particular an intended long-lasting one. In other words, they find advancement of career more important than establishing a loving relationship.
