For years I thought I knew something about this man.he got sacked from Bond,he became a has been.
But it seems that I really knew nothing about him.
He quit Bond,NOT SACKED,and he has made an interesting and well paid life for himself since 1969?
Does anybody know much about his army career? and is he really wealthy?

He quit the role of Bond in 1969, before OHMSS even was released
He thought that he'd go onto bigger and better things, but by 1973 he was struggling to find work, and was relegated to doing Hong Kong Kung Fu movies
By the late 1970s, he was trying to make a comeback by doing TV work and B movies.
So 1908far, he's never really made a big comeback, although he's worked steadily
As for his wealth, apparently he's made about 100 million due to real estate investments in California, where he's lived for 40 years
And his daughter, Melanie Lazenby, is a big time New York real estate salesperson.

Does anybody know much about his army career? and is he really wealthy?
Know nothing about his army career but yes, he is (was?) reportedly rich through property investments and a rich wife too.
Acting wise, he's actually got a long career CV, even if it isn't generally A-list material. You can probably earn a decent amount of money through quantity of roles, rather than quality.
