I wish Sung Hi Lee had played Psylocke in X-Men: The Last Stand, and she wasn't a part of the Brotherhood, and the character lived.
Photo manip of Sung Hi Lee as Psylocke:
According to scriptwriter Zak Penn, the character played by Mei Melanon was not named as Psylocke in the original script. In a Q&A on thexverse.com, he claimed that: "There was some switching of character names later in production, and I'm not exactly sure how Psylocke got thrown into the mix.".
Thus, I like to think that the character called Psylocke in the movie wasn't Betsy Braddock. Instead, it was Kwannon/Revanche. Because of Kwannons and Betsy's shared memories and abilities - due to their mind and soul swapping, and DNA mixing - Kwannon thought she was Psylocke, and that's why she was listed as Psylocke.
So, I don't care what Brett Ratner says on the DVD Commentary. That was Kwannon.
Hopefully, in a future X-Men related movie, they will have Sung Hi Lee play the real Betsy Braddock/Psylocke.
Semper Sci-Fi !!!
