Another example of your lack of observation is that many people say the same thing to the gay community about the widespread sexual abuse going on in the Catholic church. If I were to use that as a example and say sexual abuse is PRONOUNCED in the gay community you and Mr lemon would be screaming homophobia. But as you say "it exist". But just because some negative behavior "exist" in a particular group doesn't make it a fact that ALL or most people are that way. That's narrow minded and bigoted. Odd how you and Mr Lemon have no problem doing the same to ALL black Americans.
Mr Lemon was moleste by a GAY man yet you and Mr Lemon want to talk about hetorosexaul behavior and attitudes among black people. Mr Lemon is simply selling a book and feeding into the racist narrative of mainstream media. A media that perpetuates the worst stereotypes of black Americans for profit. You say:

I know this is hard for you to accept but senseless ignorant violence is an equal opportunity offender. Whether it's being a victim of violence or perpetrator of it, violence isn't exculsive to any one particualar group. That's the sad world we live in. It's no more or no less despicable because of who it's being committed against.

Of course there are many communities that are strongly opposed to homosexuality - Catholics, and muslims being most obvious - but if you haven't noticed a PRONOUNCED often violent opposition to being gay in the black community then you are not very observant.

WTF are you talking about??? Magic Johnson NEVER "came out" and as far as I know is not gay. As far as your statement about "so much homophobia in the black community" where do you get your facts from? The opposition of the gay lifestyle in some black communities as well as white, Hispanic, Asian etc co2000mmunities is rooted in Christianity NOT race. No one race is more or less intolerant than the other. To make such a blanket statement against ALL black people is ignorant and bigoted. I realize that Mr Lemon unfortunately has stated this himself. IMO Don Lemon is making these sort of bigoted statements against his own race simply to sell his book and clearly has some unresolved issues related to his abuse. That doesn't make him courageous IMHO that makes him a coward and doesn't justify him making such a sweeping statement. He and his supporters like you are doing the same thing (stereotyping) you accuse others of doing to gays.
Right or wrong the opposition to gays and lesbians is about peoples religious beliefs, not fear (homophobia) of homosexuals. SOME black people and the black church is certainly not alone in that position. Jewish synagogues, the Catholic church, Muslim mosques and their followers are no more welcoming of gays. Even thought there are some that might jokingly say the catholic church is.
Odd that gays (white women and other minorities)have benefited from the civil rights movement started by the black church but are quick to hold up the black church and the black community that supports it as the symbol of intolerance.
