Yeah I agree she used to be super-young looking but in DMTH not so much. She is still one of my fave actresses and absolutely loved her in White Oleander, though the producers didn't stay too true to the book.

yeah i guess some people are just lucky like that. and 30 isn't that old im 34 and people thinks i look 18 or younger and look shocked when i told them my age :S hell i even shocked my neighbor the other day, after waking up letting the dogs out, he thought i was my teenager sister and was like .. who are you .. lol
I also never went to a tanning salon, never really wear make up. i sleep plenty. maybe that help a bit too..

Some people are just lucky with looking young. Mostly people think I'm like 10-13 years younger, when I get to know them and ask them to guess my age

Thank you! Finally same sane people on this site. Not everyone ages uniformly, so some people can easily pass for 5-10 years younger, others will look about their age and some will unfortunately look older. Genetics are helpful, but lifestyle plays a huge factor as well.
Hollywood is unfortunately ageist and makes actresses feel guilty about turning 30and makes their screen presence non-existent by 40. This site is proof of how this lingers into our culture. You'll basically see age related threads on almost every actress' board, with people curious about their real age,111c surprised at how young they look, or suspiciously accusing said actress of being older than she claims. My favorite 2: She's 34? Looks no older than 31or wow, she looks good for her age. I've seen this on a 25-year-old actress' board!
In real life, however, 30 is nothing. In my line of work, I interact with medical, legal and basically all types of professionals. So many of them are considered young or in the infancy stages of their careers when they are 35-40. It's easy to be 16-18 years old and think that anybody over 25 or 30 is old. Then you grow up and realize that life doesn't end after 21.
There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel.

It's not as if there's some magical line you cross on your 30th birthday that makes you look significantly older than you did at 25 or even 20 I don't know why this surprises you that she looks young30 IS young- it simply seems like it's not to kids and people in their early 20's who have yet to realize how very quickly those years between then and 30 will actually pass. 30 isn't even close to middle aged on the scale of a human life, you're still only just entering your second quarter, assuming a decent span.
Hell, my father was carded for cigarettes at her age, and I'm 27 and still get carded for rated R movies. Not kidding.

yep, and if you take care of yourself when you reach 30 you'll realize that it isn't old.

What's funny is when I saw Matchstick Men I thought "Wow, it's refreshing that they actually cast a 14 year old to play a 14 year old." I was wrong by quite a bit it seems.

Yes, just watched that movie. I was trying not to think about her that way when she was supposed to be 14. Then when she showed up later in the movie it was just like damn girl.

She really does look so young. I saw White Oleander, and she was in her early t1c84wenties playing a 13 year old for part of the movie and it was a hundred perecent believable. She's aging gracefully.

when i saw matchstick men i thought 14-16 as portrayed in the movie, latter was shocked to know her real age, she looks so innocent ,has most beautiful eyes i have ever seen.
