Frommeveryone I've heard who's been there and the US, they say well seasoned food is hard to come by except maybe at an Indian place.
They also say the Chinese food sucks there.
It's not just one person. Almost everyone I've seen experience both countries think this.

It's not the same. By seasoning the batter, you get a much fuller flavor. You cna still taste the shrimp, but it's just a fuller flavor.

If you're saying it needs to be enhanced with herbs and/or spices, I agree. However, you can do that through dips and/or seasoning once it's out the fryer. Why taint the oil?
