Highly recommend if you have any interest in her career and what it was like to be a young contract player at WB in the early 1960's. Well written, candid and not a trace of victim mentality.

I bought a signed, hardcover copy last month. I thought it would be a ''keeper'' before I read it. Now that I have finished it, I'm sure of it. Great book!.

I just finished reading Diane's memoir and thought it was fantastic. Very honest and real. Not a lot of information has been available about Diane and I had always wondered the inevitable "whatever happened to" This book filled in all that information. I naively assumed because Diane had once been a starlet that she would have had a comfortable and financially stable lifeI realize how very wrong I was. Yet, despite her struggles, she comes across very accepting of life's challenges and not bitter at all. It is a very interesting book about a true survivor.

I hope to get Ms. McBain's book.
Diane had a sure shot at fame and stardom at WB with starring role in Claudelle Inglish and several co star roles in films as Parrish, Ice Palace, A Distant Trumpet and Mary Mary working with such stars as Richard Burton, Claudette Colbert, Troy Donahue, and Debbie Reynolds.
The Caretakers at UA Diane worked with Joan Crawford and Robert Stack and a fellow WB mate Van Williams. Imagine in their heyday Diane McBain and Van Williams starring in a film of their own!
Tactically Diane made a mistake of quitting Sex and The Single Girl because it was a big budget film starring Natalie Wood, Tony Curtis and Lauren Bacall and was directed by Richard Quine who made great films such as Strangers When We Meet The World of Suzie Wong, etc.. Leslie Parrish got the part instead.
