I met Diane McBain at the Asheville, N.C. film festival a few years ago where she was a guest. As we talked at her autograph table, I noticed her resemblance to Carol Lyndley whom I had also met a few years earlier. Don't know if that was the reason she got hired at WB. Carol Lyndley had the look of the blonde goddess with an angel face. Miss McBain signed a pin-up photo of herself in a bathing suit, and laughed "I don't remember my legs being that thin. Of course she still has kept her figure. She seemed a little more personable to me than Carol Lyndley.

Yeah, Fay Spain was a major babe, too. The film itself, isn't too good, but it's watchable.

Stella was the best actress of the three and clearly sex on wheels herself, but I don't think she could play the sophisticated beauties Diane ably handled.

I was just watching a old B movie of hers from '62 ( Black Gold ) and she was just stunning in it. I kind of prefer her over Carol, probably because of what you said in your previous post in this thread. However, in the end, I'll take Stella Stevens over either of them.
In case you're interested in seeing a nice shot of Diane's braless rack, Google images of her. You can't get much more perfect than what she was sporting.

I remember her in one ELVIS movie where when everyone is paired off at the end McBAIN ends up with the father of the girl that ELVIS gets and yet DIANE McBAIN was a half dozen years younger than the King.
The movie was
Spinout
and that's the one that I first took notice of her myself 35-something years ago.
No blah, blah, blah!

McBAIN
was/is prettier than
LYNLEY
.
The odd thing about her when watching her old footage is that she came across as very mature;
at 23, 25 she had the carriage of a very sophisticated 40.
I remembe5b4r her in one
ELVIS
movie where when everyone is paired off at the end
McBAIN
ends up with the father of the girl that
ELVIS
DIANE McBAIN
"Other than that Mrs.Lincoln how did you like our little play ?"

They were both blonde and beautiful, but I never thought of them as lookalikes.
Carol always seemed young and innocent in her early roles, while Diane always appeared much more mature. In fact, I thought the latter was much older than she really when I was a kid, not because she looked it, but because she seemed so much more sophisticated than everybody else on the screen.
No blah, blah, blah!

I have met both and both were nice. Carol Lynley is funny as hell. Carol remembered my name after only meeting me once maybe 6 months prior and I heard rumors of her being aloof on movie sets but you'd never know it after my two encounters with her. She told me some great Hollywood stories and was very down to earth. Diane was also sweet just seemed a bit more reserved than Carol who has a ribald sense of humor.
