<p dir="auto">I'd heard that Vera went through a bad time a few years back when all 3 former husbands (and fathers of her children) passed within four months of each other. I hope things are better now. Underrated actress. Movies are much less without her.</p>

<p dir="auto">How right you are.  What a tragedy she lost out to Kim Novak in "Vertigo," a star-making role that would have led to better scripts than those she was handed for the remainder of her career.  Her astonishing performance in "The Wrong Man" should have led to better things.</p>
