She is not Judy Garland. She elected to do the Studio 54 snort-coke-thing and assorted vices, like other people did who are held accountable. Feel sympathy for what she could not control, not what she indulged herself in. And losing your mother at a young age is tragic, but not some automatic segue into drugs.

So what you're saying is you're pissed off because you feel Liza didn't "get in trouble"? Too bad.

I see Judy Garland as receiving more passes and exonerations by fans, than her funny looking daughter. I also think the Liza's troubles, were very much a consequence of Garland's own behaviour and conditioning and something that Minnelli hasn't really been able to get a grip of or deal with in her life. Yes, she would have been spoiled and was given opportunities due to connections; but that doesn't mean we can't have empathy for her, due to her own privileged star mother, who I don't think was strong enough, self-empowered enough or even self-aware enough, to project this onto her troubled daughter.
