"Message to Love: The Isle of Wight Festival" (1970), was released on video in 1997. I just saw the dvd for the first time. Joni is really on display here as a musician and a speech maker and she's never looked more beautiful. Every fan should rent or buy it.
It's kind of a forgotten festival, since it wasn't released for 37 years. The reason for that becomes clear as you watch events unfold.
FYI

Yeah, this was almost like a shining moment for Joni, despite what happened to her on stage. It's amazing if you watch the whole film, Kris Kristofferson takes the easy way out when things turn a bit uglyhe walks off stage. Joni Mitchell however, when under duress, decides to ap111cproach things quite differently.
