Hollywood has always been for people that love watching movies and have their favorite actors, screenwriters, directors and so forth.
And historically the Oscars was created so that those in Hollywood could judge each other's work.
That's all.
It's not about politics.
So therefore there will always be a disconnect because there is the other half of the population who couldn't care less about the movie industry.
I personally did not watch the ceremony this year because I just didn't care for the movies that were nominated

The fact that some of Donald Trump's supporters were not happy that Jimmy Kimmel roasted Trump at the Academy Awards is laughable.

I probably wouldn't praise the Lord of the Rings film much beyond an absolute amateur opinion on the cinematics, actors, set design, sounds and special effects.
I know for some people it's a whole new level of brilliance because they liked the books, and I'm really happy for them, but the story isn't one for me sadly
But then I wouldn't make a video attacking or praising it - that's bait for the sharks to come and get you!

No he was still a nobody, just that Mauler and his team are MASSIVE LOTR fans and his video was trashing TLOTR hard, but he got everything wrong to the point where it seemed like he had never even seen the film.
He actually made an appearance on EFAP last Xmas lol

That is indeed a weird story
And then Mauler picked one of his videos apart - he's clearly doing well enough to get attention on those two occasions. He should stick at it and get over the hurdles and into the running track

It's a weird story tbf. A few years back a bunch of former co workers of Doug Walker aka the nostalgia critic put out a Google doc stating years of abuse and unfairness from Doug, his brother and channel awesome.
Now this youtuber was clearly inspired by NC as he copied his style and often used his clips in his own video. Yet despite being a big fan of Doug, he took all the info from the Google doc and made his own documentary on it
His videos would normally garner around 300 views after a few months, but this one docu video hit like 400k views overnight.
The disgruntled former employees of Doug got wind of thus video and praised it in Twitter….then the youtuber took this one off praise and used it to awkwardly try and force his way into their friendship circle, but they rejected him because he kept on making racist homophobic jokes.
He took it badly and started harassing them with alt accounts on twitter.

Well, he went viral once for the right reasons I suppose

He wasn't my friend and I have never met him, he is just a youtuber who lives close to me and went viral twice in his 15 years of doing YouTube. Once for the wrong reasons lol

I liked season 2 of Loki, better than I liked season 1 for sure
I've not seen Antman 3.
I've not played The Last of Us 2 but I heard it changed up the story a bit which pissed some people off.
Cinemasins is an easy target. I doubt he's lose sleep over Mauler sending more traffic his way.
If they do pick on lower level YouTubers, that's not on. I remember you said you had a friend that they picked on and he deleted his channel because of it. That's pretty harsh in my opinion

They ( mainly mauler ) always **** on Cinemasins for some reason.
The last if us 2, the story was not great but everything else about the game was great but they ignored all that.
Plus they go after other YouTubers, some who deserve it, some who don't.

Oh no they ARE all toxic bigots make no mistakes, but I agree with all that they say about being inclusive is ruining film

I'm not a fan of Piers but The Drinker and Nerdrotic are alright guys in my book.
I'm not as into military movies or comic books films as much as they are but they each have a decent eye and recommend good movies every now and then
