That is from the SCRIPT written for the Oliver Stone Movie. It's not fact. Don't believe a lot of what you see in that movie because it strays from fact quite often and is over-sensationalized in many areas.
Morrison is a Scottish last name (do a search for yourself on ancestry sites). However, I believe I remember coming across some articles in the past saying he is both, and another few claiming he is Irish and not Scottish at all.
As far as the facts about his ancestry

1. Morrison was DEFINITELY without a doubt - Scottish. Everyone from his close friends and band mates alike attest to this fact in books, documentaries, etc. I've also seen pieces written from the poet Michael McClure to information on Morrision's father being described as "An admiral in the U.S Navy of Scottish decent" to firm that fact.
2. However, Jim Morrison MAY have been Irish as well, however that is completely subjective. I've seen i5b4n a few articles that claim or suggest this but there is no concrete fact to back it unless his father had some Irish (which wouldn't be terribly uncommon with Scottish ancestry) or his mother, Clara, had Irish in her. Clara's ancestry has been a complete mystery, that I'm aware of.
   Anyone know ancestry details about Jim's mom, Clara, by chance?

Morrison's an Irish name I believe. I think there's a town in Ireland with the name.

I've read that to, in No One Here Gets Out Alive, but I believe that he was scott/irish.

The b5b4ook "No One Here Gets Out Alive" mentioned Jim and Van Morrison attending the same party. They got along very well and had a few drinks together. Jim said something that they were distant Irish cousins. I did not get the impression that they kept in touch.
