I don't think Chris was replaced, I think he walked. It was just a fill in between Sex and the City and The Good Wife. He has mentioned in interviews that he struggled with the politics on the set of Law and Order, but loved the chemistry on the set of S&TC and TGW.
Chris is too good for Law5b4 and Order (he would steal ever scene he was in). Law and Order is very limiting for an actor because the characters are relatively one dimensional.

They should never have let his contract run out when he was an original cast member on the flagship Law & Order

I really like Chris Noth (who was born in the same city as me. ) But, Jeff Goldblum is a great actorhe's good as a detective, scientist or whatever

Considering that this was a year ago, not likely. Still, before Criminal Intent I never though that I would see the Logan character again. I hope he does make on and Off appearances on SVU.

It's a shame about Noth's departure, but I don't blame him wanting him to pursue his movie career.

first of all,vincent has always been my favorite part of ci.i am dissappointed that he's gaining weight,but it's his life and who am i to complain about something as vain as that when i have no idea what's going on in his life?
as for noth,i've always hated chris noth (well,at least his role on the shows,and his appearence) but i have come to tolerate him.5b4
i'm not elated to hear goldblum will replace him,however.we already have one wonderfully peculiar cop in goren,and any character goldblum will play will be even more peculiar.i simply don'y believe he can play normal.i wouldn't mind seeing him in a weekly series,but ci seems like an odd fit.it'll be like trying to one-up goren's oddness.

Damn. I always thought Logan was awesome. He could be the bad@$$ NYC cop that no one else on CI could be. Add to that his and Wheeler's relationship was just really starting to develop. And if they use Goldblum as I bet they will it'll be more of Goren and Eames only worse.

Official reason, he didn't want to take a pay freeze to continue in the role. Likely real reason, he wants to build on the momentum of Sex and the City and move on to bigger and better things.

It really sucks that unbelievably cool and tough Chris Noth is leaving CI !! And it sucks even worse that Jeff Goldblum is the choice to replace him !! I will totally skip the episodes with that simply awful Wheeler character and Jeff.

I feel that it is to bad that this was the choice to replace Chris with. I was hoping for someone more appealing, I think Chris replacement should have been some that would have complimented him more.
