According to IMDb's 'Trivia' page; "
Accidentally shot herself in the abdomen on October 22, 1982 at her home in Bedford Hills, New York.

I can't believe I never heard about this.and less than two years before her
Cover Up (1984)
co-star,
Jon-Erik Hexum
was accidently killed on-set, also with a gun.
