Hollywood seems to have forgotten her. It's somewhat surprising given that she still looks good for her age. It's less surprising that she rarely gets film work as she isn't the best actress but I would think she would at least get some modeling offers. After all Bo Derek still occassionally gets work and Jennifer's at least as talented as her

That will do it every time, however, maybe Jennifer is not telling the whole story out of respect for her parents.

I like your adage a lot, it makes a lot of sense and is quite accurate. I don't recall reading about any abuse, only a lack of affection from her parents. One of her daughters was abused by one of Jennifer' husbands and Jennifer didn't believe her until much later.

That's because I don't think one can accept being loved if they don't love themself, which is a different take on the adage: "you have to love yourself before you can love someone else". I never believed that, unless it also means the aforementioned.
Was she abused as child?

She wrote an autobiography called Surving Myself and her issues go a lot deeper. Her need for love seemed to have a negative affect on herself and at least one of her kids. Still, if Hollywood held everyone up to a high psychological standard then few people would be working lol.

I share your thoughts about her beauty and career, but I there is something deeper going on. The fact that she has been married 8 times, and the incident when she shot herself in the stomach years ago; many beautiful suicides shoot themself in the stomach instead of the head for that reason. She also attempted suicide as a teenager. I don't know of Jennifer has written a bio of her life, but I can see it possibly happening.
"My need for love owned me."
