Alexander Payne seems to never use the same actors in his projects. Does anybody know if he ever explained it or said something about it? Is he like against working with the same actors in more than one film or something?

He seems to strictly go after the actors that he feels will best inhabit the characters he writes. It's not about friendships or partnerships. He just wants to get the most ideal people for his movies. That's the impression I get anyways.
Is it strange that I had an erection during that scene?
