I was watching Ann's sister Paula in "Where the Boys Are",which got me remembering Ann.I was surprised to see no discussion,so thought I'd pipe in.It's been a long time since I've seen anything she was in,but I recall her being a very attractive lady, looking very much like Paula which probably was enabling ,but also limiting.I'd be curious what happened to herhope she has had a great life and is continuing to do so.

So very sad. I recall her slightly from Captain Nice, a very brief Batman spoof. She looked almost just like her more famous sister, whom I have loved in every one of her screen and TV performances. That this girl did not receive the psychiatric care she so obviously needed, and was put into prison is surely a huge miscarriage of justice.

I didn't know that about Paula Prentiss. I guess both sisters ultimately suffered from the child abuse - Paula Prentiss with inward violence and Ann Prentiss with outward violence. As I said, when I heard the interview, I thought it great that they both turned out so well. It now sounds like both sisters were horribly affected by the abuse. I agree that Ann should have been placed in a place for the mentally ill instead of prison. Paula seems to have defeated her demons - perhaps Ann could have, too. Textbook case of what child abuse can do! The ironic part is that the father seemed to have loved them in his own way - I read that he saved all pictures and articles about them that he could find. I just hope that Paula was able to break the cycle of abuse with her own two sons.

Anyone can look up her criminal record to a fair degree.
I think it was all a crying shame. She totally should have been placed somewhere for those who are profoundly mentally ill and not prison.

Weinstein S asked where did she go wrong. She went wrong with child abuse!! Many years ago, when she was still very young, she gave an interview in which she described what her father had done to her and her sister when they were kids. I was horrified, and realized that they had been abused. The ironic part was that she was saying it so matter-of-factly, as if it happened to everyone. She also said how much she loved her father, and she sounded sincere. She used the term spankings, but with the description she gave, I would have said beatings. I thought at the time that it was great that she and her sister could have survived the abuse and turn into two such fine people. It now seems that the abuse took its toll on Ann, even though she didn't realize it at the time, and many years later, she snapped. It's interesting that she went after only the men in the family. The whole family paid a high price for the childhood abuse. I can only hope that she's at peace now.

IIRC, Benjamin has commented on how he had been wowed by Paula's legs, so nice legs run in the Prentiss family!
I find in watching Ann's TV work from the late '60s and early '70s that she appeals to me more than Paula. Ann was really a beautiful woman, a true looker!
I might add that she was lined up very early for an ep of Courtship of Eddie's Father (second ep of Season 1, IIRC) and she was just stunning. Bixby got to work with her following his first ep which featured a former Playboy bunny how fortunate can you get!

Imo she was sexier than her sister. In one episode of CAPTAIN NICE she played a Playboy bunny. Such beautiful legs!
Not only did she try to kill Benjamin but even her nephew(Paula's son) and she beat up her elderly father!
Where did she go wrong?

Just watched an episode of Baretta in which she was in and checked IMDB to say what she was up to now. I was curious too, I figured with the last name of "Prentiss" she might be the sister of Paula Prentiss. Sad to see she is in jail. She was pretty good looking too.
