not trying to change topic just agreeing with assessment of Denver Pyle as the hill country patriarch of the Darling family who stole the show. He could deliver a comedic line with deadpan accuracy like a keen sharpshooter. The man was a born comedian - more so than the dramatic characters he played in other movies and tv. I cannot resist watching any of the Andy Griffith episodes with Pyle in them.he was rich in acting ability and perhaps one of the best characters on the show if you are looking for comedy at its finest.
