My mother told me a while back that He and my grandmother were cousins. I don't know on what side, I'll have to find that out. His family moved to East Tennessee while my mother side is from North Carolina. Even though he played a lot of rolls, but my favorite one of his was Briscoe Darling on the Andy Griffith Show.
