Also, this sorta begs the question, why am I posting? Honestly, I don't even know. None of us are going to change anyone else's opinions so lets quit bitching and enjoy our own movies.

Pfffyeah I'm ignorant for not thinking there's anything original about Inlgourious Basterds, just like your ignorant for thinking there isn't anything original about the Hurt Locker. And there are plenty of other reasons why Inglourious Basterds doesn't deserve any praise other than the story being unoriginal. I just hated the movie and it's so overrated. I would like to write ten pages explaining why, but I have better things to do with my time than talking about overrated Tarrantinto schlock, so here's a movie reviews that's on youtube that took the words right from my mouth as to why Inglourious Basterds sucks.

Well, you can't win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay when most of the the script isn't original. I'm the type of guy who mainly watches movies of rather poor quality, but I do know when something is original and when something isn't, and this movie is far from original.
An original screenplay means a new and fresh idea. "Inglourious Basterds" was just another typical Tarantino movie reference/tribute-fest. If none of you can accept that, just look at the main evidence:
He basically remade a movie with a similar plot and stole the title
http://www.imdb.com/board/10076584/
Now don't give me any excuses like "what about the Jew Hunter?" or any of that other Tarintino supporting beep ("Oh, such great dialogue"; "The spelling of the title was different"; "He supposedly spent 10 years writing this"). Also, this isn't the only Jewish revenge movie, there were plenty of others made before this one (Defiance rings a bell), and killing Hitler at the end doesn't change the fact that it's still a REMAKE of a foreign film. I'm sick of hearing that Tarantino was robbedhell, he shouldn't have been nominated in the first place.
Yeah, bring on the criticism

Of course it was better than Avatar, it beep sucked. But it was the award for Best Director, which she didn't deserve, because every movie is directed that way now. Up in the face shots with a shaky hand held camera, Arrested Development did it, and so did 80% of movies after that, but I didn't see them getting any Oscars.

Tarrantino looked pretty indifferent. Reitman & Cameron looked like they were thinking "you just gave it away before even saying their names so we know it's not us 2" and Daniels probably got excited for a split second so putting on a mildly fake happy face is pretty understandable
