I loved Jemima Rooper in Lost in Austen. To an American ear, though, her name sounds very odd. I read that her surname is pronounced "Roper", but what about her given name? Does she pronounce it "je-MY-muh," as in the American "Aunt Jemima" or do the British pronounce the name "je-MEE-ma?"

British person here.
It's pronounced "je-MY-muh," as in "Aunt Jemima". No one pronounces it "je-MEE-ma."
Hope that helps.
