My #1 Celebrity Birthday Person for January 30th is
#1 Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Would have been 126 in 2008) 1882
and still #2 Dick Cheney (Lucky to reach 67 in 2008) 1941
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Would have been 123) 1882

Died age 63
Born 30 January 1882 - Hyde Park, New York
Date of death 12 April 1945 - Warm Springs, Georgia.
(cerebral hemorrhage)
Birth name: Franklin Delano Roosevelt / Height: 6' 2" (1.88 m)
Seventh cousin once removed of Winston Churchill.
Winston Churchill said about his first meeting with Roosevelt that meeting him
"was like opening a bottle of fine champagne."
The 32nd President of the United States, and the only one to serve more than two terms -
he died three months after beginning his fourth term.
Worked in advocacy since 1907 until 1910.
Was elected New York Governor in 1928 and in 1930.
Suffered poliomyelitis in 1921, and lost the ability to walk on his own.
He wore heavy leg braces and when he appeared in public standing on his feet
Many efforts were made to conceal Roosevelt's disability.
When he was elected President in 1932 the general public had no knowledge of his ailment.
Was U.S. President from 1933-1937, re-elected in 1941 and again in 1944.
making him the first US President to appear on television.
When he was five years old, his family visited the White House and met
President Grover Cleveland. The President put his hand on little Franklin's head and said,
"My little man, I am making a strange wish for you.
It is that you may never be President of the United States."

Shortly before he won the 1932 election, the Boston Braves lost their
final pre-election football game.
The Braves went on to become the Boston Redskins, and eventually the Washington Redskins.
In all these incarnations, their fortune in the final pre-election game has always
paralelled and predicted the fate of the incumbent party or nominee in the Presidential race.
This pattern was unbroken until 2004,
when President George W. Bush won the presidency, despite a Redskins loss.

In the midst of the session he left, complaining of a headache.
Gene Hackman (75) 1930
Born: San Bernardino, CA / Birth name: Eugene Alden Hackman / Height: 6' 2" (1.88 m)
Brother of Richard Hackman.
A child of a broken home, Hackman left home at 16 for a three-year hitch with the Marines.
Moving to New York after being discharged, Hackman worked in a number of menial jobs
before studying journalism and television production on the G.I. Bill at the
University of Illinois. Hackman would be over 30 years old when he finally decided
to take his chance at acting by enrolling at the Pasadena Playhouse in California.
Legend says that Hackman and Dustin Hoffman were voted "least likely to succeed."
Hackman next moved back to NY where he worked in summer stock and off Broadway.
As a young man, Hackman attended a showing of the movie A Streetcar Named Desire
(1951) and was impressed by the performance of Marlon Brando due to his naturalism
and the fact that he didn't look like what a movie star typically looked like in the 1950s.
After exiting the theater, he told his father that he wanted to be an actor.
Spouses: Betsy Arakawa (December 1991 - present)
Fay Maltese (1 January 1956 - 1986) (divorced) 3 children
Father of Christopher Hackman from his first marriage.
Movie debut at age 31 in Mad Dog Coll (1961) (uncredited) as a Cop.
In 1964, he was cast as the young suitor in the Broadway stage play 'Any Wednesday.'
This role would lead to him being cast in the small role of Norman in the film
'Lilith' (1964), starring Warren Beatty.
When Warren was casting for his film 'Bonnie and Clyde' (1967),
he would cast Hackman as Buck Barrow.
Was the first choice to play Mike Brady on 'The Brady Bunch' (1969).
He was the sixth choice to play Popeye Doyle in 'The French Connection' (1971).
Has stated that his performance in 'Scarecrow' (1973) is his personal favorite.
Turned down the lead roles in 'Jaws' (1975), 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' (1977),
and 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' (1981).
Was the first choice to play Hannibal Lector in 'The Silence of the Lambs' (1991).
Was also offered the chance to direct The Silence of the Lambs (1991).
Turned down the part of President Franklin Roosevelt in 'Pearl Harbor' (2001),
which went to Jon Voight.
In 1972, he won the Oscar for his role as Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle in
'The French Connection' (1971).
Hackman is a versatile star who can play the blind man in the comedy
'Young Frankenstein' (1974) to the evil Lex Luthor in 'Superman' (1978).
Revealed on 'Inside the Actors Studio' (1994) that the two of the most important
factors in deciding on which films he will work on are the script and the money.
Has appeared in three films adapted from novels by John Grisham:
'The Firm' (1993), 'The Chamber' (1996) and 'Runaway Jury' (2003).
One of the most sustaining actors of all time,
he still averages 2 films a year in his 70s, having starred in six in 2001 alone.
Dustin Hoffman came to New York after finishing his training at the Pasadena Playhouse.
The two of them roomed together in New York at Hackman's one bedroom apartment on
2nd and 26th Street. Hoffman slept on the kitchen floor.
Originally, Hackman had offered to let him stay a few nights, but Hoffman would not leave.
Hackman had to take him out to look for his own apartment.
'Runaway Jury' (2003) was the first time he and former roommate Dustin Hoffman
performed on the screen together.
2008: Latest movie - Welcome to Mooseport (2004) as former President Monroe Cole.

"Archie Bunker's Place" (1979) TV Series and some episodes

'The Bob Newhart Show' (1972).

I guess he is Bob (probably the #1 Celebrity named Bob) Newhart's favorite.

Baltimore Bob's brother Andy doesn't like 'Laugh-In'

because it sorta replaced "Star Trek" TV series 1966-1969.
