After Claudia Christian quit/was fired, they should have hired Julie Musante instead of Elizabeth Lochley. As long as they were replacing Ivanova with someone who'd been on the wrong side, Musante's sneakiness and lack of ethi1c84cs (instead of Lochley's hyperserious humorlessness) would have been much more interestingly nasty, and provided at least as many opportunities for comic relief as Suzitchka did.

I don't know I liked Lockley a lot, she was a bitch, but she was B5's bitch. I liked her best in River of Souls.
But it would have been great to have this imperious k^nt played by shattuck come back, but tv shows are all scheduling problems. Shattuck was an a movie with Clodia Xtian, "Arena" in 1989- funny, Armin Shimmerman &qu2000ot;Quark" from DS9 was also in that.

Sure, Lochley was a downright weak character, and yes Musante was hot, but whole idea falls apart due to Musante NOT being military, she couldn't have run B5. As stated in the episode she appears in, B5 is a military run station, though under civilian mandate.
And come on, Lochley might have been on the "wrong" side, but she was not a fanatic, as Musante clearly was.
Shoot straight, you bastards - don't make a mess of it!

She was hot, but my god was she a bad actress. Her performance was straight out of a low end Troma movie.

I can easily root for people hwo are bad but also higly competent.
Musante would have been a great idea. But Lochley was also ok. I whished she had been there instead of Invanova. It's unrealistic that all leading officer turn out to be rebellious.

What I liked about the character was her imperiousness and how she was wholly swallowed up by extremist ideals. In real life, she would be Muchelle Bachnonwoman.

I would've welcomed Ms. Shattuck back. She was "evil" and manipulative enough to be interesting - and being, imo, very easy on the eyes to boot. Even if she never came over to the good guys, her character seemed promising: she recognized that much of what she espoused was mere "rewriting the dictionary" so she was self-aware but nevertheless pursuing power for its own sake. One of those Londo type dilemmas.

That is a really interesting suggestion. Her character definitely could of been milked for more episodes then she was.

That's an interesting idea from a character point of view and certainly would open up plotlines that Lochley never could have. On the other hand, Lochley was said to be previously married to Sheridan and they wanted to use that as a subplot device. Also, it would be tough to place a non military person in charge of a military command.
