I watched an episode of Whats Happening last night and was struck by how uncomfortable Danielle Spencer seemed to be. She just said the lines just going thru the motions and not really putting any feeling in it. At times she is more engaging but I got the feeling she just wanted to show up go thru the show and get paid. It did not seem like everything was ok with that kid. Too bad. I wonder if anyone else noticed.

I've noticed this too. I sometimes watch What's Happening on TV One and she is rather bad. Sometimes she will look straight at the camera or other times she breaks character. All the others seem to actually Act, but her. She just appears to be flatly saying her lines.
