I like this actress but this reboot of MSW sounds beep crap. 1) she's too young.
2) Hospital??
3) No Jessica?
This isn't Jenifer Gardner as Marple bad but I hope it's a joke like the Amber Tamblyn MSW reboot.
The show will "revolve around a hospital administrator/amateur detective (Spencer) who self-publishes her first mystery novel. It's set in a day where sensational headlines fuel the news and focuses on a the character's fascination with true crimes, which propels her to become an active part of the investigations."

I don't think it's too bad. It may not make it past couple of episodes. Though I do plan to watch if it ever airs.
I was a fan of the original. We always have Netflix people! 🙂

black woman can't get published? Has to self publish, wtf? Yeah i was otherwise excited, but i'm not a fan of the idea or the people behind it. Desperate Housewives SUCKED!

I think the idea is okay, but why not just change the title? If you're going to re-imagine a show, then you should re-imagine the title too. That's why some shows fail because a lot of people expect it to be a mirror of what it was when it really isn't. The actress would be perfect for that role - I can totally see her in it, but the title needs to change so the show can be hers.
