According to my oldest friend (a Donnaholic from way back), Miss Summer lived in Battery Park City (south of Ground Zero in NYC) and was at home on 9/11. One theory holds that during evacuation, she was exposed to the toxicity in the air and developed lung cancer that way; she could possibly be another ancillary victim of that horrible event.

whether she smoked or not is not the issue it is what the doctor said about the lung cancer being non smoking lung cancer, that's all i'm trying to get across. i saw the video you are talking about. i just made a statement saying was it a cigarette or a joint. no denial here, what ever it was she was smoking it, right?

So, she smoked. but again, the doctors came out and said that the lung cancer she had was not related to smoking.
I couldn't tell if it was a cigarette or a joint, to be honest. that record studio was know for it's drug actions and this was before her spiritual turn around.

Cancer ran in Donna's family and she lost her mother and several sisters to the disease. I am somewhat surprised Donna smoked if only because her voice was so powerful and some people who smoke it affects their voice.

Doctors said it was lung cancer not related to smoking. not everyone who has lung cancer is related to smoking or second hand smoke. Asbestos is another cause of lung cancer, for one.2000

Dana Reeves Died of Lung Cancer and they said she never smoked.
Glenda Farrell 1930's actress, died of Lung Cancer and was a non-smoker.

My neighbor across the street died almost a year and a half ago and she was a non smoker but she was diagnosed with Asma, then it became Bronchitis, then COPD and she NEVER smoked but her Dad did but not all of the time she said and probably my neighobr inhailing it was not good for her like they say it's not good to inhal second hand smoke, but then again where I now live they say from all of the smoke stakes and the coal mines it might or can cause lung cancer.
