Donna is once AGAIN among the nominees. First I was so mad she didn't make it in while she was with us, why bother now? She would have put on an AMAZING show with true rock legends. I can only dream of what she would have sounded like if backed by Rush or Deep Purple! How about Donna with Public Enemy? Heart? Oohhhhh what could have been!
But then I had a change of heart. I began to think, "if she doesn't get in this year, is all hope lost?" That started to really bother me. This year the fans get to vote too! Here is a link to Rolling Stones online voting. We all should pitch in and vote and share on Facebook and Twitter! Get your friends and family to vote too! It would be a nice Christmas present for her family! The last time I voted today she was in 6th or 7th place! Rush and Deep Purple have the most, but above her is Joan Jett and Albert King, and though I love and admire both artists, the will surely have other chances This may be Donna's Last Dance! Let's start a movement to FINALLY get this done! Only a few weeks left
Joan Jett, Albert King and Public Enemy are keeping her from getting in right now.

Finally, she is in. As Elton John said seven months ago, it is a disgrace that she had not been inducted at the time of her death, yet second-rate talent had been.
I think his comment had EVERYTHING TO DO WITH IT FOR 2013. Let's face it - the RRHOF wants to be taken as a serious venue, and then had this publicity mess to clean up for the past seven months. I think they had no choice but to let her in this yea16d0r - even though she deserved it when she was first nominated in 2008.
Makes me wonder..if she was still alive today, would they have inducted her? Or left her as a nominee?

Congratulations Donna Summer Queen of Disco!!!! Yes she should have been in years ago and it is really sad she is not here to participate in the ceremonies but I am glad she is in at last and surely she knew it was inevitable with all having made the "short list" five other times. I do like the fact that the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame is not as stingy with inducting people like the Country Music Hall of Fame which only inducts three a year so many deserving people will miss out. Donna's friend Dottie West has been dead for 20 years now and they still haven't put her in their HOF! So I am glad Donna's well-deserved honor has come at last and while it is extremely bittersweet that she is not her to enjoy it and I am sure her family is very happy (and I hope their acceptance speech has a little smack to it too if you know what I mean.)
