He seems to have etched out a career playing a likeable boob, and that's great, but it seems like that's all he can do, and he's never really even been funny at that. His biggest claim to fame is of course My Name Is Earl, where he was scenery with a couple of bafoonish lines every few minutes, Jason Lee carried that show. You can pretty much say the same about each role he's had, yet some people swear he's a great comic actor. Oh well, just an observation I keep noticing. But I'm sure within a day or so I'll have someone from the Nathan Suplee fanclub jump all over me about this statement and attack me personally for pointing this out so I'll just leave it at that.

Yeah, I disagree with the OP as well. I like him (and thought his role in American History X was memorable).

"My Name Is Earl" would've been a cheese pizza without Suplee. He made it a meat lovers with onions, mushroom and green peppers. But I understandsome folks love cheese only.

He's most known for his roles in comedies, but his best role IMO, is not one of those. This s no big secret, but he plays Seth, a completely unlikable, racist skinhead in American History X, and he plays it well. As a matter of fact, none of my five favorite movies he's in are comedies. The others are Remember the Titans, John Q, Blow and The Butterfly Effect.
