Russ Tamblyn was always as good a dancer as, and infinitely better looking than Fred Astair, and at least as athletic as Gene Kelly. Why did he never become a major star, as they did?

He's better off as he's worked since time television began. Charisma's not talent. As an actor he gets to play many roles but movie stars tend to play themselves until people get tired of them. Hope he makes it into the 3rd season to Twin Peaks.

I think he was great, too. Maybe his boyish looks worked against him a leading man.
