Aug 19, 06 - 9:01 PM	Thank you to Jay and his "Tribe"
I just wanted to stop by and post a "Thank you" to Jay and all of the Tribal Members. My sister, Kris, was a frequent visitor of this site for many months. She spoke of Jay Tavare and this site often. To Jay: Because of some advice you gave to my sister, she went on to finish her Masters degree and get a job that she truly loved. I wanted to thank you for giving her the encouragement that we (her family) were unable to provide.
To the members of the tribe:
THANK YOU all so much for the friendship and enjoyment that you gave to my sister. She spoke of the "chatroom" and something called "tribalfire" often. She also had a pic of Jay on her desk at work, that I must say was the envy of most (if not all) of her co-workers!
My sister passed away of cervical cancer last week - one of the last things she spoke about to me was this site and how much pleasure it gave her. So another big THANK YOU to all of you involved!
I'm truly sorry for your loss. I'm glad that she was able to come to a place that made her smile and laugh. I'll keep all of you in my thoughts tonight.
Kerry,
I very much remember you sweet sister, Kris, and my heart goes out to you and your family for loosing someone so special.
I knew she wasn't well but had no idea it was that serious.
It is good to know that she was able to get enjoyment and comfort here. She was a light to us and put many a smile on our faces.
Remember that your sister is always with you. She will always be a part of you and although it is so hard to loose someone that you love so dearly, in time, your memories will comfort you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know. I will offer up my prayers on her behalf.
Aug 19th, 2006 - 10:45 PM Re: Thank you to Jay and his "Tribe"
I just wanted to let you know the kind of person Kris was.
Two weeks before JTTP1, Kris contacted me out of the blue. She said she had several never before seen pictures of Jay and if I wanted to use them for this event she would send them to me.
The shots were out of this world and I used them to create "Professional Cards" with Jay's resume on the back. They were a huge success. This would not have happened if it weren't for Kris' generosity.
Kris never asked me for anything in return. She just wanted to make the event extra special and it was. She was a very giving person with a great sense of humor. We had fun commenting on these shots.
Heaven sure has a special Angel.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I can see why Kris loved this group so much! You are all truly very kind and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers! I hope that Jay knows what a great group of people he has here at his site!
Thank you all very much - and I would love to return now and again and keep in touch with such a great group of people!
Kerry
Oh Toosie: Thank you especially for sharing your story with me. Kris truly was a kind and generous person. (Her daughter is going to be just like her!) I can not tell how much I appreciated hearing this story about the pictures, it brought her back to me for just a moment!
I believe I have seen one of the pictures that you are talking about - it was one of her prized possessions - she kept it on her desk at work. It was obvious why she admired Jay - but now after hearing from all of you, I can see why she loved coming here and admired all of you so much!
Thanks again and truly take the time to love and appreciate every moment with your loved ones!
Hi Kerry,
I do remember Kris posting on the site! No words are adequate in this situation except that we were blessed to have her join us here. Please don't be a stranger yourself-we would love to have you join the tribe.

I did know the answer to your question, but Anjaali beat me to it. So if you feel the need to ask me another then fire away and I'll do my level best to supply you with the proof you require however I'll tie Anjaali's hands up first!!
If I'm a true Brit eh??! What do you think you would find if I sliced open an artery? Red, white and blue come gushing out? Ah but of course because I can trace my ancestry back to the Magna Carta and beyond then maybe it would be just blue blood that would stain the floor?
If you want more information I can tell you that I can trace my ancestry back for generations. On my fathers side I'm English and on my mothers side I can trace the line back to Scotland, specifically to the Highlands and that, by my reckoning, makes me Anglo-Saxon/Celt. Physically what do I look like? Okay well, 5' 4" tall, blue grey eyes, light brown hair and as Anjaali mentioned pale skin. From this flood of information you should have deduced that my heritage and my physical appearance are quintessentially English, as Anjaali rightly stated. I think that just about covers it and gives you chapter and verse on my ethnicity.
But I do admit to being intrigued as to why you think I may not be British?
As for Anjaali (just in case you were wondering) she's as British as I am in the sense that she was born here but quite obviously from the name she has chosen and what she's referred to in her reply her antecedents lie in the Indian sub continent, specifically in the Punjab, where her family were landowners and enjoy the privilege of being from one of the high castes.
Shes a lovely person and weve been friends for a long time but I do have to live with the fact that shes a tad delusional at times, bless her. Trying to change my outlook from Anglo Saxon to Indian is merely one of the things that shes tried over the years, and whats truly entertaining is although she never gets anywhere she never gives up! But what can I say? Its a cross that I bear with fortitude and endurance! sigh

Kenny Everett. And "comedian" is a subjective term when it related to him.
Unlike me, Aethelflaed is as quintesentially English as they comeVery pale skinned, can probably trace her roots back to the Magna Carta and has a very dry British sense of humour.
I'm trying to change that of courseintroduce to her the Indian perspective of all thingsshe's fighting it womanfully but I'll win in the end! ;o)

Despite all that has been said on these forums about Jay, it is nonetheless a good read.

'I have read an article written by Jay Tavare a few years ago where he had interviewed Jackie Chan in Venice magazine for one of his up coming films and it was well written and very interesting.
I will ask RRF if she can get that interview and post it.'
If it can be found, and posted, then I look forward to reading the interview with Jackie Chan.
However that has led me on to another thought. On the magazine/interview section of the site there are photographs of magazine covers, Cosmopolitan, GQ, Vogue and Vanity Fair1c84 featuring Jay Tavare. Presumably there were interviews to go with the cover shots? Could these interviews be located and posted as well?

Sweetie, you've been tossing those two words around for so long that I don't even think you know what they mean. You call people demeaning names because you have no other means of defense when they disagree with your point of view. So allow me to enlighten you. I am neither a racist nor a bigot because I do not believe that my race is superior to any other race. I also am not intolerant of any one person based on the their race or ethnic background. At best what I said was a stereotypical generalization, not a racist remark. And I believed I apologized to anyone that it may have offended. You're the only one still harping on it simply because you have no other means of insulting me, other than playing the bully and calling me names. I feel sorry for you that you can't seem to outgrow this childish behavior and carry on a civilized adult conversation like the other members of this "hate mob". Grow up.

Great, good for you, now you are doing it the right way. Find the real facts, it is so much better than speculating, that is how I know all that I know.
Ask for the interview by Jay Tavare, photography by peter geuther and it was published by Venice Magazine jan/feb issue on page 22-24 and James earl jones is on the cover.
Like I said he is a published writer. Are you Amy? Are you Indgo Clown or Chriss.
I think there is a color shot of Jay and Jackie on the off the set section of the fan site. I believe it is from the same interview together.
Indigo Clown you are a racist and a bigot so I don't think your views on anyone, yet alone Mr. Tavare whom you don't really know anything about really matters. You get the picture. lol

I was told he is a little dyslexic as many great actors are, hence some of the spelling mistakes. So what?
Oh really? Well, that would explain a lot. But we've been criticizing Jay's writing ability for a long time, so why offer up this explanation now? If he is dyslexic then it would be in his best interest to hire a proofreader, so that he doesn't simply come off as someone who is lazy and a poor writer. Though, I suppose it just sounds better to claim he's "a little dyslexic" than "a little bit stupid". Yes, there are some very talented actors who are also dyslexic (I found several lists of them on the internet and sorry, Jay Tavare is not mentioned among them), but I have never thought Jay was a great actor to begin with so I don't see how that could be used as a crutch to validate him.
I already sent the interview to the site lets see when they put it up.
Just for the sake of getting the facts straight on that. I also emailed Venice Magazine and asked them about the interview. I'm awaiting their reply.
