Currently watching Hatchett 2 - god awful film, but he appears as a reasonable normal person in it. Great actor BTW.

He plays a very different kinda role in Dream In American - as African immigrant widower with a teenage daughter who despises him for holding on to tradition while she wants to be fully americanized. It's a very dramatic role, and of course Tony is FANTASTIC in it

Well if he didn't wanna chat about it don't do conventions. Lastly the fact he's remembered not only speaks volumes of his acting, but he's more successful than 95% of the actors out there. For every Hollywood star you got a bunch of working actors in lower budget films and for everyone of them you got millions that never make it past being credited as guy number 1

I think actors like Mark Hamill and William Shatner went through a distinct phase - excitement, annoyance and, finally, acceptance.
Mark Hamill will always be known as Luke Skywalker and William Shatner will always be known as Captain Kirk. I think it came to a point where they realized there's nothing they can do about it, and it will never go away, so they may as well just embrace it. Mark is rumored to appear in one of the new SW flicks and Shatner appeared as Kirk at the Oscars a few nights ago, so there you go.
Harrison Ford's a special case. He always seemed a little reserved about the Star Wars thing because I think the fear of being type-cast spooked him and he was never able to let go of that fear, even after becoming one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. Just my opinion, of course. The Indy thing was easier to embrace because it meant he wouldn't be remembered for just ONE character. I was surprised as hell when it announced he'd be in the new Star Wars movie. I guess he finally realized it's perfectly safe to embrace Solo at this point because he's Harrison f#cking Ford.

How do you think the cast of Star Wars feels? Or any of the Star Trek actors? I think a certain fanaticism follows anything with impact, so it should be seen as a positive, however tiring it can be.

I think he enjoys the horror thing, though if I were Tony Todd, it wouldn't take long for me to lose my mind at those conventions when all people want to talk about is Candyman. "Hey, remember that movie you did twenty years ago that you've already talked about a million times? Let's talk about that!" But he seems gracious about it. I give him props for that.
I think he's one of those actors who just goes with the flow and is appreciative of the fact that he's had a pretty steady 25+ year career. Not many actors are that fortunate.
