nooo but i heard and read so many amazing things about that novel, it's definitely at the top of my to-read list of this year. i might even skim through Twain's Huckleberry Finn story again to be perfectly prepped for Everett's take on it

Have you heard of Percival Everett's James? It's apparently Huckleberry Finn from Jim's perspective and it's been on my radar for a while, but I just haven't been in the mood for historical fiction lately. But now that it's won the Pulitzer and National Book Award I should probably get on it lol

Yeah, maybe. It's just a short story. But it does a good job of exposing the incongruence between religious faith and nationalism. Sadly, it's still very relevant.
