His Dad died from injuries received in a car wreak. His mother died of cancer.

It's been many years, but I think it was an automobile accident.but don't quote me on that..

Well, since they BOTH died when he was 11 (assuming it was at the same time, b/c it would be rare for an 11 yr old to lose BOTH parents to disease at such a young age), I would say a car accident is the likely culprit (or some other type of accident).
