After all these yrs of knowing Vanity actually recorded this songI never got a chance to hear it until now. Sadly it basically still sound like Apples version just as if she was doing it prior to being cleaned up in the studio. The only visible diff is beginning words are done at slower pace by Vanity and not rushed like Apollonia did. As well the ending is/was done either by Prince or The Time (who I know were the real producers behind this song) instead of Brenda's version that got played for original A6 tape/recording.

Just listened on YouTube as well, thanks for the tip.
It wasn't just the beginning, the entire song is done in a slower beat.
I really couldn't tell that it was Vanity vs Appolonia unless you told me, but yes both are good in their own way.

I first heard Vanity's on Youtube about two years ago. It was a break from hearing Apples but I was blown away how serious it sound. However I loved both versions.
