Yes, Tom was gay and a damn good actor. He was so underrated.

I just watched "parasite" the old 3d movie from the 80's. as usual after watching a movie I come to imdb to see what others thought of it and find interesting factoids etc. I recognized tom right away (playing against type as a bad guy gang member) from films like "one crazy summer". I was saddened to see he had died of aids, I didn't even know he was deceased. so when I read that my first thought was "was he gay?" like many others, I'm sure. I realize that aids can affect anyone and I don't think there is anything wrong with asking that question. I was surprised to see that question has already been asked and there was not a bunch of posts like "who cares?" or "why should that matter" or "even if he was he was still a good actor". heh, those idiots who post responses like that make me sick. first off, no it doesn't matterwho said it does? it is simple curiosity. some people find the lives and interests of celebrities interesting. if they didn't there would be no tabloids or shows like "true hollywood stories" I see nothing wrong with being curious and asking any kind of question about your favorite celebrity. I see the OP even felt they had to justify their question by prefacing it with I'm not being prejudiced, I am just trying to connect the dots" as if to try and ward off would-be flamers. you don't have to justify or give reason as to why you have a question just ask and F#@$ anyone who doesn't like it. if you asked if he like to ride motorcycles or collect stamps no one would think anything of it. oddly I'm ranting on and there were no "who cares" posts HERE, but there are tons for almost any male star under the "is he gay" threads. I just posted this because of the OP's wording it made me think of all the "what does it matter!" morons and how I want to smack them.
I'm sorry to see that tom has passed. I did enjoy his work as a sort of lovable goofball type in the few films I saw him in. R.I.P. Tom. To the OP, well, sorry to say I cannot answer your question. I don't know if he was gay or not but if I had to guess I suppose I would say he wasbut what does it matter, he was still a good actor
