I've heard that Mr. Waite was a alcoholic at one time. Does anyone know if this is true or not? For, a few folks told me that's why Richard Thomas left the series in 77'. I'd like to know the truth, with a link from a proper site, to back it up. Thanks.

He was an alcoholic but after the first season he had quit he had went through a program and is still not drinking to this day. As for Richard Thomas he left the show because his contract ran out for that tv company
