Wish You Were Here,Meddle, and Atom Heart Mother are my top 3 favorite Floyd albums {although I love them all}.
I'll never understand why Floyd hate AHM. It doesn't have message or theme like there later work, but does everything have to a have a meaning ? just enjoy. The live versions of AHM on youtube are amazing
they makeheadcheese.they take the head and they boit it, except for the tongue !

I love the three songs in the middle, "If", "Summer '68" and "Fat Old Sun". It's a great album, but not one of their best, IMO.

I would say that my favorite Floyd albums are "Piper at the Gates of Dawn", "Meddle" and "Obscured by Clouds". But "Atom Heart Mother" is just as good to me as "Dark Side of the Moon" and better than any of the stuff after that. I have to admit the last song on "AHM", Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, is a downer other than the brief acoustic theme.
Did I not love him, Cooch? MY OWN FLESH I DIDN'T LOVE BETTER!!! But he had to say 'Nooooooooo'

He he, I know.
I've read quotes from Roger about how he thought AHM and Ummagumma
were pretentious. I understand that the commercial success of those
albums weren't on par with DSOTM and WYWH, but, they are indeed
brilliant albums within Floyd's ever progressive career.
