Okay, let me make this clear, Emma Watson was doing Beauty and The Beast at the time when she was asked for the role. They were filming Beauty and The Beast in Surrey, England and Emma didn't want to miss making it, so she said "Hey, you think you guys could come over to London to do the rehearsals?" while she was doing Beauty and The Beast at the same time. Lionsgate obliviously couldn't go through with it, so she turned it down.

Well,I would not. LA LA Land works mostly thanks to the impeccable chemistry between Stone and Gosling. So it would not have been the same film just as Titanic would have not been the same if Paltrow or Claire Danes had been cast in the lead role. It's also important to note that Ryan Gosling only signed to appear on the film after Stone got cast. Things are the way they should be. Emma Stone deserves the praise she got and Watson seems lovely in Beauty and the Beast. Besides, Disney (the most powerful company on the planet) would never rearrange their schedule for a rival film.

This really doesn't sound like the agent screwed up. She was already shooting BATB, so she had a commitment to that. The producers probably weren't willing to start screwing around with the production schedule to accommodate rehearsals for La La Land, especially since you're going to burn a day each time you fly from Britain to the West Coast, and intercontinental flights just beat the crap out of you physically. So the only way she could do it would be to have the rehearsals in the UK, and the La La Land producers said no. It's show business. It happens.
Instead I'm now getting cr@ppy headlines making me look like at idiot whether true or not
That would have happened regardless. If they'd adjusted the BATB production schedule to accommodate the La La Land rehearsals, we'd have been hearing about how unfair it was for her to hold up production of a shooting movie just to have
rehearsals
for something else.

If I were her, I'd be gutted I'd missed out on a role, a lead role, in a film currently being lauded and having awards thrown at it. I probably would have some words for my agent because they take a fair chunk of my money to represent me. Instead I'm now getting cr@ppy headlines making me look like at idiot whether true or not - who knows? Either way it's like Will Smith turning down Django Unchained for After Earth

IKR..People would do anything to make her seem like a bitch. Either way, I don't think she would have been good in LA LA Land. Stone was great in that one and Watson is a great choice for Belle.
