If there was more than just Matt.
He's just super uptight and super anti-vampire or anything of the supernatural variety. I kinda don't want to see that in any spin-off of the Vampire Dairies. He's just too hateful and negative. No one wants to see that every episode.

They're not about to cancel TO because of the brand, because of its performance. Plus it's on the Friday night slots. A new spinoff put on a Tuesday or Monday would do fine.

What? How did you reach that conclusion? It means they think the franchise is likely dead and give up on it.

Actually this means it's more likely they'd try to get another one going. Not give up.

if Matt has a spinoff it would be a much less boring version we see of Matt. he has been a badass few times in TVD seasons. season 2 he saved Damon and killed Maddox [man witch or warlock who was helping klaus]

Considering they pretty much cancelled The Originals, I think it's safe to say no spin off is planned what so ever.

Matt was given Damon's blood, so maybe he becomes a Vampire LOL. Unfortunately for Zach, Matt Donovan has been the most boring character in the entire series. They have been finally giving his character an interesting storyline. Maybe something will come of it. I'd watch a spinoff if it involved certain characters, maybe Matt, Alaric, Enzo, Caroline or Stefan. Matt Davis posted a goodbye to Alaric on his twitter, so I don't think that Alaric will continue.

Well, yes. As a consumer, I do tend to watch the show off my computer. And yes, Zach Roerig has remained the weakest actor on TVD for many years - part of it I must blame on the show for never giving Matt Donovan anything to do. But he's bloody awful 90% of the time and it shows when he's playing against particularly week actors as he was in those flashbacks.

I'd watch it if was a more procedural type thing, not exactly supernatural, but a little more extended bit of the TVD-verse mixed with some Maxwell backstory. I mean it'd have to really ramp up some interest in Matt Donovan for me, I'd definitley give it a chance.

I'd watch a Matt spinoff. Surely it wouldn't just be him though.
Maybe Alaric will have his own show. Maybe it'll be like Desperate Housewives but with syphoner children who cause all the drama. Him and Matts dad along with other DILFS could live on a street together.
