Well said by everyone in this thread, She was a real revelation in this movie. I agree with previous comments and I thought her performance was really good but didn't see what the big deal was until that point. In that scene with the lawyer and on reflection she was amazing. Her character was such a cold, hard b!tch and Jacki delivered it perfectly. She really showed that there are other ways of exerting power and control than just being a loudoffensive brut.

I absolutely agree. Didn't see the big deal for most of it, then she scared the hell out of me in that last fifteen minutes of the movie!
And after finishing watching it, and thinking for a bit, I realised just how brilliant she was throughout the whole thing.

No, I could see early on that the actress had that certain "something" that was going to produce something really incredible. And since her entire family is deeply corrupted and off kilter, I knew that SHE, the matriarch, was the source; that no matter how bad her sons were, the real mastermind and heart behind the mayhem was this sweet lady next door type. So the whole moving I was waiting for her true colors to come forth, the revelation111c of her underbelly, and it did. And thankfully it was well worth the wait.

Ditto. At first you thought she's an eccentric mom who just lets her "boys be boys" and made peace with the fact that her boys just happened to rob banks but it turns out, she's been manipulating things all along.
