Tom is a much better choice (if based on looks) than Jake for the role. If based on talent than that might (or might not) be another matter.

Just found-out that back in 2007 Jake Gyllenhaal was going to play him. Tom has more of the Joe Namath look than Jake. Jake looks goofy as Joe.
